Hi, I'm Erin!
For over 10 years, I was an elementary and middle school classroom teacher before making the decision to stay home with our five boys.
I learned how to play Mahjong two years ago and quickly fell in love with the game! It was the perfect combination of challenging my brain, having fun, and spending quality time with friends. I loved that it kept me thinking, laughing, and connecting with others!
As my boys started getting older and I found myself with a little more time, I decided to combine two things I love: Mahjong and teaching!
It all started with me recruiting my friends to play and practically begging them to let me teach them! Soon, friends and friends of friends started asking me for lessons, too. Before I knew it, I was teaching groups a couple of times a week.
Mahjong quickly became something our friends loved doing together, often with our kids playing nearby. It wasn't long before the kids started getting curious about the game themselves, and that's how Mini Mahj came to be!
Another thing I've always loved about Mahjong is all the beautiful details that come with it! From the colorful tiles and patterned mats to the fun accessories, there's so much personality and creativity in the game. That love inspired me to add another piece to Bam & Bloom: custom painted Mahjong tables! I wanted to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind tables that are just as fun and colorful as the game itself. After all, what better place to gather, play, laugh, and make memories with friends than around a beautiful Mahjong table?
What started as a love for Mahjong and teaching eventually grew into Bam & Bloom! I chose the name because I believe Mahjong is about so much more than learning a game. It's about growing your confidence, challenging yourself, building friendships, and discovering something new to love.
Whether you're picking up a tile for the very first time or continuing to grow your skills, there's always room to learn, connect, and bloom!
Thanks so much for being here and following along! I hope to see you around the Mahjong table soon!
xo, Erin
